We prioritize Christ’s commandment to love our neighbor by serving those in need both within and outside of our parish.

Saint John’s is committed to our Lord’s calling to love our neighbors and to serve others:

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Matthew 25: 35-36

Ministries we support at St. John’s and how you can get involved:

Saint John’s Food Truck

During the summer months you are likely to see the Saint John’s Food Truck at local events such as Whittle the Wood, Balloon Fest, and the Moffat County Fair. This ministry allows us to interact with our local community and share some of our culture and cuisine. Proceeds from these events are given back to the local community.

Contact Jeannie Maneotis (970) 326-5547 or Katrina Springer (970) 629-0498) for more information about this ministry and how you can help.

Saint Michael’s Community Kitchen

Saint John’s volunteers participate monthly in the Saint Michael’s Community Kitchen by preparing, serving, and delivering meals to those in need throughout Moffat County. Saint John’s has provided thousands of meals to local residents through this program.

International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC)

IOCC Home-building Trips

At Saint John’s we send teams to rebuild homes and provide support to those impacted by natural disasters throughout the United States.  Since 2001, IOCC’s US Programs have provided over $72 million in aid and gifts-in-kind, as well as over 65,000 volunteer hours to survivors of disasters across the country. Following severe weather events, emergency and home-rebuilding assistance has been provided throughout the United States.

IOCC Hygiene Kits

Following natural disasters, famine, war, displacement, and other calamities, families often find themselves without the most basic necessities such as soap, a clean towel and wash cloth, toothbrush, etc. Saint John’s is committed to an annual program of assembling basic "Hygiene Kits” that are then distributed to those in need here in the United States and abroad.
